Shop Bop Giveaway!

One of my new years resolutions was to not buy any non essential ready to wear clothing. I have to much, wear about five percent of what I have, and want to sew more anyway. I’ve been analyzing my wardrobe for gaps recently and have noticed a dire need for Jackets. I love to browse designer sites for inspiration. Shop bop has some great classic designer pieces. I’ve been gravitating towards classic and clean looks, but maybe in an unexpected fabric or color. The jackets below are some good examples of that.

I have a pattern in my stash kind of reminisant of the smoking jacket

Mcall’s M6159
  1. I could alter the pattern a bit to add some bell sleeves. I also really love the vintage modern cropped jacket! Gold is really flattering on me and goes with a lot of my wardrobe already. I’ll have to find a pattern for that one though!

I’m not sure if the last jacket would look good on me, but I love it all the same. I feel like I’d have to get very good at draping though to be able to make something similar.

While I plan out my sewing though I have some good news for my followers though! Shop Bop has kindly offered to give out a 100 Dollar Credit! Here’s what you need to do to qualify for this giveaway!

  1. Agh! I remember finding a pattern for a jacket that was very similar to the first two, but it had wider sleeves. I think I just stumbled upon it somewhere on the internet. My name is Megan & my email is greenphosphene@gmail.com.good luck to ALL. <3:( commenting is not working with my lj account. BOO.

  2. Not a jacket/blazer person, personally, because they never fit my big arms/narrow shoulders and waist/big hips. That's why I prefer cardigans. so don't expect me to buy a jacket when I win!Brittany, britt.kett@gmail.com

  3. i think i want to take a page from your book and start utilizing the patterns i have. Have you tried any of the built by wendy patterns that simplicity ( i think put out)? i don't know if i could do a bright colorful blazer i tend to like to blend into a crowd. my email is parke.audrey@gmail.com
